June Session: Broadway Sessions Returns To The Tony’s

About this Session

June is Tony season in New York, although unfortunately this year’s awards ceremony has been postponed due to Covid-19.

Last year we celebrated musical theatre’s night of nights by featuring songs from past winners of Best Musical and Best Revival. This year we want to do the same thing, but with a sliiight difference. This June we will be honouring those writers and shows that have won ‘Best Original Score’. 

From Kiss Me Kate to Cats, Company to Next to Normal, South Pacific to Hamilton, there are plethora of shows (well, 60 to be precise) we will be choosing songs from! You can see a full list of past winners here.

We will be LIVE streaming this Session from the Ghost Light Bunker. The band will be live, the hosts will be live, the performers will be live too – but the audience gets to do it all from the comfort of their own home.

Tickets to view the live stream will be available at the start of June. We have chosen to keep these Sessions ticketed (but have reduced single viewer tickets to our normal concession price) so we can cover the costs involved in putting these Sessions on (including supporting the artists on our team who have lost their income stream). Therefore, spread the word and invite your friends and family to watch and support your local artists!

For the opportunity to perform, visit our registration page from 9pm on Sunday 31 May, and submit two song options (from a musical or by an established music theatre writer). Performer registrations will close on Sunday 14 June.

Please note: performers will still be required to attend the Ghost Light Bunker on the night of the Session. Only audience members get to watch from home!

A note on safety:
Every possible step is being taken to ensure the health of all performers and team members, and to comply with SA social distancing rules.
*All surfaces are disinfected with hospital grade products before and after use – this includes all cables, stands, microphones and all other equipment that is used.
*Plus, no microphones are shared – each performer will have their own microphone.
*Performer’s arrival times will be staggered and we will be working within the current social distancing and mass gathering guidelines for South Australia.

Session Hosts

Casmira Lorien

Casmira is an experienced performer and teacher with a great passion for storytelling. Highlights have included performing the role of ‘Violet’ in Davine Productions’ Violet (for which she won the TASA award for Best Female Performance 2017) and 'Fantine' in the G&S Society's production of Les Misérables (for which she was nominated for a Curtain Call: Best Female Performance 2018).

In 2018 she performed in Edges with Irregular Productions for the Adelaide Fringe, ‘Shelby’ in Steel Magnolias with IpSkip,'The Lady of the Lake' in Spamalot with Marie Clark (winner of Best Ensemble Curtain Call 2018), and the ‘Sour Kangaroo’ in Seussical with Northern Light. In 2019 Casmira played nine characters in Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court with Davine Productions (which won Best Ensemble and Best Musical at the 2019 Curtain Call Awards, as well as the TASA for Best Musical) and Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme in Assassins for Hills Musical Company.

Professionally, Casmira has acted and provided voices for several short films and children’s productions. She also spent many years directing and music directing musicals for Adelaide Theatre Academy, including Snow White and Alice in Wonderland for the Festival Centre’s ‘Something on Saturday’ program. Her fondest memories are working with Peter Combe in directing and choreographing his Adelaide Fringe shows from 2013-2015.

Lindsay Prodea

Lindsay has performed over the past decade in both musical theatre and cabaret, having enjoyed success in various genres: classical roles such as John Brooke in Little Women (The Musical) (Therry Dramatic Society 2013) and Cinderella's Prince in Into the Woods (Northern Light Theatre Company 2012); to contemporary roles such as Abraham in the Adelaide premiere of Altar Boyz (Davine Interventionz 2013), Sonny Malone in Xanadu (The Musical) (Davine Interventionz 2014), George in The Drowsy Chaperone (Hills Musical Company 2013), Kyle the UPS Delivery guy in Legally Blonde (HMC 2014) and most recently Elliott Garfield in The Goodbye Girl (Therry 2015). Lindsay has also appeared in countless other shows, favourites including Urinetown, 42nd Street, Crazy for You & Les Misérables. Most recently he premiered in Adelaide the role of Fabrizio for Davine Interventionz's 2016 Adelaide Fringe Show, The Light In The Piazza.

Aside from musical theatre, Lindsay has a keen passion for cabaret, having written, co-produced and performed at numerous cabaret events over the years. Stepping out side his usual genre, Lindsay played the role of Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby (old sport), produced by Independent Theatre.

Session Performers

Aimee Crathern

Aimee is an avid music lover and an aunty. She currently attends Tutti Arts and participates in their music program 3 days a week. Aimee loves performing and will take each opportunity to do so, participating in the performing arts group No Strings Attached, sings with the Tutti Choir and Poco Choir, and is also a member of the worlds first all girl disability music group The Sisters of Invention. The Sisters of Invention, have seen Aimee perform at numerous events such as The Special Olympics Closing Ceremony, Womad and The Fringe Festival. Aimee and her music group The Sisters of Invention are recording their new album which should be released later this year. Aimee and her music group recently appeared on ABC iView Get Crackin.

In addition, she is in a new group called TGIF (Thank God It's Friday), and will be performing at the Highway Hotel on the 3rd of November. She is also performing in the Adelaide Christmas Pageant with TGIF, and performing in a show with No Strings Attached on 7th & 8th of November.

Alana Iannace

Alana is 17 years old and started singing with the school choir, then moved to Musical Theatre at age 10. Alana has enjoyed success with lead roles in productions by Adelaide Youth Theatre, Pelican Productions, March Productions and work with Promise Adelaide. Her highlights include Class of Cabaret and working with New York producers/directors. She is passionate about all genres of music and loves to sing, act and dance. She owes much of her success to working with many accomplished teachers and performers.

Andrew James Crispe

Andrew is an established freelance performer and vocal coach who has performed professionally in and around Adelaide. He has been a member of the State Opera of SA’s Chorus since 2009. Andrew‘s first foray into the world of Music Theatre was in 2000, when he was encouraged to audition for the Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s back-to-back production of HMS Pinafore and Trial By Jury, and since then he has not looked back!

Andrew won his first leading role in 2006, and has gone on to play a large number of leading and supporting roles throughout Adelaide’s community theatre. Andrew has been nominated for Best Male Performance by the Critics Circle Awards for his role as Don Lockwood in Singin’ In The Rain, and by the Adelaide Theatre Guide for the same role, as well as his portrayal of The Beast in Disney's Beauty And The Beast. For one of his most recent productions Andrew won the TASA Best Male Performance Award for his portrayal of Edward Bloom in BIG FISH – a show which also won the TASA MusiCal Award. Andrew co-wrote and performed in the sold-out season of Villain-Ville: A Musical Exploration of Villainy and Evil in the 2015 Fringe Festival. His most recent appearances this year include a return to the role of Curly McLain (for the third time) in an outdoor production of Oklahoma (On A Farm) with Emma Knights Productions, The Preacher in Davine Interventionz production of Violet, a return to the role of the Major General in Emma Knights Productions’ fourth season of Pirates On The Popeye, and lastly as Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Andrew played the role of Marius in both seasons of Les Misérables with the Gilbert & Sullivan’s Society in 2008 and 2009, and he is overjoyed to be coming back for yet another season with them only this time as the infamous Javert – a role he has coveted since he was little!

Bronwen James

Bronwen’s performing life spans in excess of 40 years. She studied acting in London and Los Angeles and upon her return worked on and off for Patch Theatre Company over a 17 year period. She appeared regularly with the State Theatre Company of South Australia during the mid ‘90’s. Her most recent stage appearances have included Sarah Jane Moore in Assassins, Lily in Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, Desiree Armfeldt for both the Hills’ and G & S Society’s versions of A Little Night Music, Judy Garland in the Met’s, The Boy from Oz, and the title role in the Hills’ award-winning, The Drowsy Chaperone. Bronwen has conducted countless drama workshops for children and adults of all ages all over Adelaide and is the Artistic Director for The Real Spinners (using theatre skills with ex-gamblers to tell their stories). She is also a Civil Marriage and Funeral Celebrant.

David Gauci

I have two arms and feet. But my feet are not at the end of my arms. That would just be plain silly. I like to sing, especially in other people's showers. But not while showering - that would just be weird. I have been singing since before fire, but not long after the wheel. I trained under a number of singing teachers but as a result of claustrophobia I found it better to stand next them instead. As a child I would spontaneously sing in class, as an accountant I would spontaneously sing in the office. I was soon sent back to class. I love chocolate.

David MacGillivray

Growing up performing in the Scouts’ Gang Show: Comedy Capers, David developed a love for musical theatre from a young age. Trained at the Centre for the Performing Arts; David has enjoyed performing Shakespeare with the State Theatre, Lightning Strike and Chopt Logic Theatre Companies and has toured in the past with Splash Theatre Company. Turning from professional acting to focus his energy on his family and work for the Anglican Church as a priest, David chooses to do shows that he loves.

It was in Marie Clark's production of Paris in the titular role that David hit the Adelaide scene in musical theatre. David has since performed with Marie Clark Musical Theatre in Miss Saigon (John) and as Carl Hanratty in the 2016 production of Catch Me if You Can. He has worked with Northern Light Theatre Company as Frederick in Pirates of Penzance and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. David also performed at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2015 with Lazy Saturday Productions' Australian premiere of Darkle. 2017 was a big year of theatre for David starting with Pale Ale Tales, a new work by local writer, Jason Hendy in the 2017 Adelaide Fringe, Jekyll and Hyde with Marie Clark and finishing with Les Misérables as Enjolras with G&S Society. Most recently David performed with the Hills Musical Company in Assassins as John Wilkes Booth.

David is thankful to his wife for her love and support, and for letting him play.

Duncan Carmichael

Duncan has been working semi- professionally in theatre and performance since graduating high school in 2014. Soon after, he began his tertiary studies at the University of New England studying a Bachelor of Theatre and Performance. In 2018 he received a Diploma in Arts and in 2019 Duncan was accepted into the Bachelor of Music Theatre program through the Elder Conservatorium at The University of Adelaide, where he played the role of Moritz in the inaugural production of Spring Awakening in the same year.

In addition, he has performed for Little Fish Entertainment in Spring Awakening (2020), and Chicago (2018).

EJ Downing

EJ made her first journey to a theatre to photograph a show with her parents when she was only 8 months old. It seems that she was destined to be on the stage. She has appeared in a number of Adelaide Youth Theatre productions including as a Silly Girl in Beauty and the Beast (2015), and as Attina in The Little Mermaid (2016). In 2017 she performed in Fiddler on the Roof with Therry Dramatic Society. Most recently she performed Tightrope from The Greatest Showman as part of Pelican Productions - Music Theatre Camp (2019), winning the Spirit of Performance award for her involvement. Her favourite role to date has been playing Thea in Spring Awakening with the Hills Musical Company (2017).

Fiona DeLaine

Fiona has an Honours degree in performance from Flinders University Drama Centre. She has appeared on television and on stage both professionally, here and interstate and as part of the Adelaide Amateur Theatre community. She has worked in several aspects of theatre from performer to choreographer to director. Maureen from RENT is a dream role in a show she has loved since she was 14 and received the original Broadway album and was privileged enough to see the original Australian production.

Jack Ashe

Jack Ashe is a musical theatre student at the elder conservatorium. He started performing in musicals during high school in Port Pirie. Since moving to Adelaide in 2017 he has made appearances in ECMT's production of Spring Awakening and Davine Productions' Beautiful: The Carol King Musical.

Jordan Coulter

Having been singing since the age of 5, Jordan has been involved in music for almost his entire life. He has been involved in many choirs, musicals and other music events throughout his time at school, such as the Generations in Jazz festival, playing Kurt in The Sound of Music, and Jesus in Godspell. Now at University, Jordan seeks to involve himself further in the music scene in Adelaide.

Joshua Angeles

Joshua Angeles is a 22 year old singer/performer with a passion for musical theatre and storytelling. He has been singing for as long as he can remember, starting at a very young age singing in church. Performances he is most recently known for include In The Heights (Pelican Productions) as Usnavi and Latin Choreographer, Les Misérables (G&S) as Marius, Godspell (Lydian/Irregular Productions) as Judas, and Judge Jackie (Davine Productions) as Duane.

Outside of theatre, Josh is a Systems Engineer working for an Electrical/Energy company. He is also Salsa performer/instructor. In his spare time, he loves playing guitar, songwriting and spending time with family and friends.

Katie Packer

Katie has played such roles in Adelaide as Little Buttercup in HMS Pinafore, Lady Thiang in The King & I, Antonia in Man of La Mancha as well as Footnote in Pratchett Pieces for the Adelaide Fringe Festival. After moving to Melbourne in 2005 she played The Narrator in Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Lt. Janice Fury in M*A*S*H, Pamela Lukowski in The Full Monty and received Lyrebird Award nominations for playing Sister Amnesia in Nunsense & Nunsense 2. She also played one of her dream roles, The Witch in Into The Woods as well as the wonderful Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in The Music Man. Since moving back to Adelaide in 2015, Katie has portrayed Margaret Johnson in The Light In The Piazza for the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival and Jen in John & Jen. She had the opportunity to work with composer John Bucchino on his show It’s Only Life for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe Festival, and to be a part of the small ensemble cast of Godspell, and most recently portrayed Judge Jackie Justice in Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court for the 2019 Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Katie has Musically Directed The Outsiders, All The New Stuff, Kids On Broadway, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Godspell, Little Shop Of Horrors, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, The Wedding Singer, Seussical The Musical, The Wizard Of Oz, Annie and most recently Once Upon A Mattress. She also had the opportunity to co-direct for the first time with Avenue Q in 2014.

Mark DeLaine

Mark’s passion for Education has lead him to the role of Head of the Arts at St. Peter’s Woodlands Grammar School. His favourite onstage role was playing Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors where he met his wife Fiona. Mark also had the opportunity play his favourite character role Amos in Chicago for Emma Knights Productions. He is a well known Musical Director working with many musical companies across Adelaide. Favourites include Curtains, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Sweeney Todd, Crazy For You, The Drowsy Chaperone and Company.

Mark produced the sold-out Adelaide premiere of The Musical of Musicals - the Musical! for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Adelaide Fringe Festivals (also playing Bill). Mark made his debut as guest conductor of the Norwood Symphony Orchestra presenting the Australasian premiere of The Trumpet of the Swan in the 2014 and 2015 Adelaide Fringe Festivals. Recently Mark musically directed the award-winning Big Fish for Therry, Spring Awakening and Side Show for Hills Musical Company. He was also the musical director for Oklahoma, performed outdoors on Four Oaks Farm for Emma Knights Productions. Mark performed the role of Brian in Avenue Q fulfilling all his muppet dreams.

Mark’s greatest production to date is his son Bryce who keeps his parents extremely busy.

Maya Miller

Maya’s love of musical theatre began at an early age, with her journey in performance beginning with Pelican Productions. Since then, Maya’s theatre credits include The Gilbert & Sullivan Society’s Thoroughly Modern Millie (2016) and Les Misérables (2017), Lydian Productions and Irregular Productions’ Godspell (2018) as the ‘By My Side’ soloist, Marie Clark Musical Theatre’s Anything Goes (2019) as Hope Harcourt, Segue Productions’ Heathers (2019) as Heather McNamara, and most recently Davine Productions' Beautiful: The Carole King Musical as Cynthia Weil (2020). Maya is a primary school Dance/Drama teacher, and she finds so much joy in being able to share her love of musical theatre with her students.

Mim Sarre

Millicent Sarre is a singer & songwriter, cabaret artist, music theatre performer and vocal coach.

Mim studied Music and Theatre at Graceland University, USA, before returning to her hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, where she has been actively involved in the music theatre scene. Her notable roles to date include Veronica Sawyer in Heathers the Musical (Segue Productions, 2019), Wendla Bergmann in Spring Awakening (Hills Musical Company 2017), Ivy in Ivy + Bean the Musical (The Gemini Collective, 2018 – Australian Premiere), Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Hills Musical Company, 2015) and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors (Graceland University, 2013).

In June 2019, she premiered her original cabaret show, Friendly Feminism for the Mild Mannered, in the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe, and revived the show for the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2020, where it played a sold-out extended season and was a 3-time award winner in the Adelaide Fringe Awards.

Oliver John

Oliver is 19 years old and has been performing in musical theatre since 2008. He has worked as a performing arts teacher and currently teaches vocal lessons privately. His show credits include Buddy in Elf Jr. (Theatre Bugs), Reverend Shaw Moore in Footloose (The Parks Theatre), and Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast Jr. (Theatre Bugs). In 2018, Oliver got to play one of his dream roles; Seymour Krelborn in Adelaide Theatre Academy's production of Little Shop of Horrors in the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Oliver then starred as Sonny Malone in Xanadu Jr. with Adelaide Theatre Academy in 2018, Boq in Adelaide Youth Theatre’s production of Wicked in 2018, and James Bailey in Barnum with March Productions. Most recently, Oliver was featured in the ensemble of Segue Productions' Heathers the Musical in September 2019.

Oliver travelled to the United States in January 2019 with a select group of Adelaide Youth Theatre performers to compete in the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta. They performed a version of Madagascar: A Musical Adventure Jr in which Oliver starred as Marty the Zebra, and worked with Broadway professionals in New York. Oliver was also lucky enough to be a part of the 2019 Class of Cabaret programme. After months of mentorship from industry professionals Michael Griffiths and Amelia Ryan, Oliver performed a cabaret set in June as a part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Professionally, Oliver performed in the kids' production Snowmageddon: Penguins of Antarctica in July 2018 with Heaps Good Productions.

Oscar Bridges

Oscar, 14 years old, has been performing since he was 7. He's performed in over 17 musical theatre productions, including the London Palladium's National tour of The Sound of Music, as Kurt at 10. He's also performed at many sporting events and, most recently, the SuperLoop. Oscar is excited to be performing again at Broadway sessions.

Rosanne Hosking

Rosanne's performance career spans over 20 years and has taken her all around Australia (and overseas). She has enjoyed exploring her natural versatility on the operatic, musical theatre, cabaret and contemporary stage. Her professional theatrical debut was in the Australian cast of The Phantom of the Opera with which she toured Australia and New Zealand.

Most recently, Rosanne played the role of Miriam in the World Premier of new Australian musical, The Front at the 2015 Adelaide Cabaret Festival and in 2013 she toured Australia with Amity Dry's musical, Mother Wife and the Complicated Life in the role of Lily. In 2012, she was awarded the Adelaide Theatre Guide Curtain Call Award - Best Professional Female Performance, for her portrayal of Diana Goodman in Adelaide's premiere of the musical, Next to Normal (Six Foot Something Productions & The Factory).

Her other professional theatre credits include The Venetian Twins (Beatrice) for the Sydney Olympic Arts Festival, South Pacific (Dinah) for Seabiscuit Productions/Festival Centre and Sunday in the Park with George (Frieda). She has also performed in State Opera of South Australia seasons of Don Giovanni, A Masked Ball and Turandot.

Rosanne has made appearances both nationally and internationally as a concert artist. Highlights have included Off the Air with ABC ClassicFM presenter, Guy Noble and performing Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate with the Austral Sinfonietta in London. In addition, she is a well-respected vocal coach based in Adelaide. Rosanne lectures in singing and music at the Adelaide College of Arts, works regularly with Pelican Productions as a Vocal & Musical Director, runs workshops for the Primary Schools Festival of Music and also runs her own private studio assisting professional and emerging artists.

Sophie Guidolin

Sophie is fortunate enough to be studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at the Victorian College of the Arts. Before moving to Melbourne, Sophie was heavily involved in the Adelaide theatre scene. She began dancing at the age of 6 which naturally progressed to discovering the allure of music theatre. She has been involved in a variety of cabarets, competitions and musicals including Rent (MCMT), The Little Mermaid as Ariel (AYT), Beauty and the Beast as Belle/Babette (AYT) and The Wizard of Oz as Dorothy (AYT and Gleeson College).

Tielah-Jade Cannon

Tielah is a full-time History student at the University of Adelaide who is working towards a Post-Grad degree and also pursues her passion for performing in whatever time she can scrape together. Her deep-rooted passion for musical theatre has led to roles through many youth theatre productions, and a few South Coast Choral and Arts Society shows. She was head of the ensemble in SCCAS's production of Sweeney Todd and also played the role of Madame Fogg: the keeper of the asylum and was in SCCAS's production of Cinderella and the Pirates playing Captain Blackbeard (written by director Jonathan Ogilvie). Tielah's most recent role was multiple characters of the ensemble in the Hills Musical Company's production of Assassins.

Session Band

Peter Johns (Piano/Musical Director)

Peter is a music director, accompanist, repertoire coach, and the founder of Irregular Productions - one half of the brains behind Broadway Sessions.

He has been a theatre music director since 2005, with a number of his shows winning local awards. Theatre Credits include: (as Music Director) Beautiful, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, Next to Normal, Violet, The Story Of My Life, Songs For A New World, The Light In The Piazza, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Into the Woods, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, [title of show], Edges, Avenue Q, Bring It On, Singing In The Rain, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, The Sound of Music, Urinetown the Musical, Scrooge, The Witches of Eastwick, Little Shop of Horrors, Seussical the Musical, Grease, Once Upon a Mattress; (as Associate Music Director) Kinky Boots; (as Conductor) City of Angels, The Addams Family; (as Associate Conductor) Rent; (as Assistant Music Director) Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, South Pacific, Copacabana; as well as playing keyboard in over 25 other productions.

Besides co-producing Broadway Sessions, Irregular Productions has also staged the South Australian premieres of Songs for a New World, [title of show] and Edges, as well as a new production of Godspell (with Lydian Productions).

Peter is also the music director for Civic Park Carols, Australia's second-largest candlelight carols event, working with some of Adelaide’s finest musician’s and performers, as well as artists such as Justine Clarke, Guy Sebastian, Rachel Beck, and Jimmy Giggle.

Max Ziliotto (Drums/Percussion)

Max has been playing percussion for 15 years, and has been involved in numerous music performance groups throughout that time. Attending Marryatville High School 2006-2010, and being a part of the Raiders Drum Corps since 2007, he learned performance etiquette pretty quickly, and grew comfortable performing in front of people. Max participated in the Big Band program at high school, and as such was able to attend Generations in Jazz multiple times. His drumkit playing further improved after high school where, during his studies for his Bachelor of Music (Percussion), he was a part of the Jazz SA Youth Superbands. While studying his Bachelors, Max competed in and won First Place in the 2011 MSO Snare Competition.

Musical theatre has been part of his life since 2009, and as luck would have it, Max has been working with Peter Johns since his very first show! Productions Max has been involved in include: Sweeney Todd, Fame, Spamalot, Beauty and the Beast, Oliver!, Annie, The Full Monty, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Violet, Wicked, Bring It On!, Edges, Beautiful, Mamma Mia, and Les Miserables.

Outside of music, Max has developed a passion for gridiron, and plays for the Port Adelaide Spartans. He is also a personal trainer, and his love for craft beers is pretty strong!

Louis Cann (Bass)

Louis has been playing both double bass and bass guitar as long as he can remember. Beginning with lessons at the age of 7, he quickly developed his skills and decided that music was the career for him. Louis began playing for Musical Theatre shows in 2011, with the Northern Lights Theatre Company’s production of Beauty and the Beast, which coincidentally, was the beginning of a long-standing working relationship with Musical Director, Peter Johns! Since, Louis has played for many theatre companies around Adelaide, including Adelaide Youth Theatre, Lydian Productions, Pelican Productions, Davine Productions, Irregular Productions, Marie Clarke Musical Theatre, The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of South Australia, and Hills Musical Company. Some of his favourite shows to play for have been In the Heights, for Pelican Productions in 2019, and Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, for Davine Productions in 2020. In 2018, Louis had the privilege of playing in the pit for the Gordon Frost Organisation’s touring production of The Wizard of Oz. Louis graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2016, with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance.) That same year, he began performing as a casual member of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra - some of his favourite performances include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Concert at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Last Night of the Proms at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

Martin Cheney (Piano)

Martin is an accompanist, repertoire coach and music director for the Bachelor of Music Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium and a secondary school music teacher, accompanist and repetiteur at Concordia College. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Composition and is a co-founder of the Adelaide Wind Orchestra.
As the founder and director of Lydian Productions, Martin has produced and music-directed critically-acclaimed seasons of john & jen and Godspell (with Irregular Productions) since its debut in 2016, as well as curating a new music theatre song cycle, Bitter. Sweet., in 2019. Professionally, Martin has performed with Il Divo, Marina Prior and John Foreman, as well as being keyboard deputy for the touring Australian productions of The Wizard of Oz, Mamma Mia! and Aladdin. He has had the good fortune to work with the best of Australia’s theatre music directors, including Laura Tipoki, Michael Azzopardi, Chris King and Kohan van Sambeeck.
Martin has also worked as a rehearsal pianist for the State Opera Company of South Australia and is regularly engaged as an audition pianist for many of Adelaide’s theatre companies (when there is not an ongoing global pandemic).
