About this Session

We’re back with another performer’s choice night. Performer’s can register to sing any song as long as it’s from an existing musical or written by an established music theatre writer.

Come along and hear some new songs and old favourites!

Doors are open at 5:45pm. Food and beverages are available from the bar.

As there are limited seats available due to COVID restrictions, you will be able to join us in person, OR stream it from the comfort of your home!

Tickets to be in the audience go on sale on Friday 19 March. Unfortunately, you are unable to book a whole table – however the Broadway Sessions team will be allocating seats so you can sit with your family and friends. Tickets bought under the same name will automatically be seated together. If you have any other seating requests, please email them to [email protected] by 5pm on Monday 22 March. We may not be able to accommodate any requests after this time.

Tickets to watch the live stream from home will also be available from Friday 19 March and can be purchased from the tickets page.

Lindsay Prodea (he/him)

Lindsay has performed over the past decade in both musical theatre and cabaret, having enjoyed success in various genres: classical roles such as John Brooke in Little Women (The Musical) (Therry Dramatic Society 2013) and Cinderella's Prince in Into the Woods (Northern Light Theatre Company 2012); to contemporary roles such as Abraham in the Adelaide premiere of Altar Boyz (Davine Interventionz 2013), Sonny Malone in Xanadu (The Musical) (Davine Interventionz 2014), George in The Drowsy Chaperone (Hills Musical Company 2013), Kyle the UPS Delivery guy in Legally Blonde (HMC 2014) and most recently Elliott Garfield in The Goodbye Girl (Therry 2015). Lindsay has also appeared in countless other shows, favourites including Urinetown, 42nd Street, Crazy for You & Les Misérables. Most recently he premiered in Adelaide the role of Fabrizio for Davine Interventionz's 2016 Adelaide Fringe Show, The Light In The Piazza.

Aside from musical theatre, Lindsay has a keen passion for cabaret, having written, co-produced and performed at numerous cabaret events over the years. Stepping out side his usual genre, Lindsay played the role of Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby (old sport), produced by Independent Theatre.

Session Performers

Abbie MacDonald

Abbie is 9 years old and loves singing, dancing and acting. This little pocket rocket enjoys performing in various vocal/dance competitions.

Abbie has worked professionally as an actor and plays a lead role in a children’s stage show Lucy’s Search for Starz. Linda Ellis has been Abbie’s vocal and acting coach for the past three years and she is coached in song and dance by Lucy Ellis.

Abbie was lucky enough to to be awarded National champion for both straight vocal and song and dance solo in both 2020 and 2021 at Evolution National Dance Competition on the Gold Coast. Her musical theatre idol is Lucy Simmonds and her dream role is Matilda.

Aimee Crathern

Aimee is an avid music lover . She currently attends Tutti Arts and participates in their music program three days a week. Aimee loves performing and will take each opportunity to do so, participating in the performing arts group, singing with the Tutti Choir and Poco Choir, and is also a member of the worlds first all girl disability music group The Sisters of Invention. The Sisters of Invention, have seen Aimee perform at numerous events such as The Special Olympics Closing Ceremony, Womad and The Fringe Festival. Aimee and her music group The Sisters of Invention just released their second album.

Cailene Kilcoyne

Cailene Kilcoyne came to Adelaide from San Diego, California. She has performed regionally around the United States as well as internationally. Cailene keeps busy singing these days with a wedding band as well as singing in the shower. She's super excited to be performing at Broadway Sessions :)

Caitlin Hogg

Caitlin has been a part of the performing arts most of her life. She has been dancing since she was 7 and got into musicals at 17. She has been in 3 South Coast Choral and Arts productions, the latest being The Addams Family. She is very excited to be performing today.

Cate Zander

Cate enjoys singing and has done lessons with Teresa La Rocca for a couple of years. She has been a group singer at St Clair Carols by Candlelight, and is now keen to explore solo live performances. She enjoys watching musicals and is inspired by the strength and control of the performers’ voices.

Cais Nitschke (they/them)

Cais is a musician, Scout Leader, swimming teacher and audio-visual technician who has been involved in the creative arts for many years. In 2023, Cais was the Musical Director for Big Fish by Tatachilla Lutheran College at the start of May 2023, which has been their absolute favourite show to have done to date. Cais was studying a Bachelor of Music, however has recently swapped into a Cert IV in Live Production and Technical Services (Tech/Stage Management) at TAFE SA, and will pursue theatre fulltime. They are the Stage Manager for Trail's End for Adelaide Fringe 2024, and And Then There Were None for Phoenix Music and Variety Group in 2024. In 2023, they were also the Lighting Operator for Finding Nemo Jr for Adelaide Youth Theatre, as well as the Graduation Dance Show for TAFE SA's third year Bachelor of Creative Arts - Dance Students.

Some of Cais' other theatre credits include playing violin for Marie Clark's seasons of The Producers, and violin/clarinet for SALO's The Gondoliers. They also worked backstage/mic tech for Now Productions Oliver Jr (2021) and The Addams Family (2023), played in the pit for Comedy Capers Gang Show, clarinet in My Fair Lady and violin in the Australian Premiere of Betty Blue Eyes. Cais was also the Musical Director for Scouts Shouts Youth Theatre 2021-2022 and worked backstage with Comedy Capers Gang Show in 2023, alongside other festivals and events and shows. Cais' favourite festival to have worked for was the Illuminate Adelaide Festival in 2023.

Overall, Cais loves working and studying as an audio-visual technician, with Lighting being their favourite department. Cais is also a volunteer crew member for the South Australian State Emergency Service (The ones in orange!).

Deana Bakas

Deana found her love for musicals at a very young age. This lead her to take part in multiple shows throughout her teen years, scoring the solos of Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof), Mary Magdalene (Jesus Christ Super Star) and Dolly (Annie Get Your Gun), to name a few. Deana has also released some music of her own, and has a love for song writing and song production, working with M4SONIC (What Does The Fox Say) and other renowned producers. Broadway however, will always be her first love.

Emma Good

12 year old Emma Good has had a busy 2021 doing shows with Peter Combe at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Marion Cultural Centre and Capri Theatre as well as various performances with the South Australian Public Primary Schools (SAPPS) Choir. She is excited to be playing Maddison in School of Rock with Pelican Productions in August and Gertie Blossom in Dr Dolittle Jr with Adelaide Theatre Academy in October.

Ethan Joy (he/him)

Ethan is 15 years old and is currently receiving vocal coaching from Ben Francis as well as being a member of the Showstoppers class with Adelaide Theatre Academy. Ethan most recently performed the role of Dr Doolittle in Adelaide Theatre Academy’s October production of Dr Doolittle jr. He has also played the roles of Fred Casely in Chicago, George banks in Mary Poppins, Smee in Peter Pan, Eddie in the production of 13: The Musical, and Noah Claypole in Oliver! in 2018. This is where his love for theatre began and has continued to grow.

Ethan is currently a year 9 student at Gleeson College, after moving from St. Pauls where he performed in two St Pauls and Kildare musicals.  Ethan be featured in next year’s Adelaide theatre academy’s Fringe production of the Musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as the Lead caracticus Potts. Ethan's favourite musician is Ben Platt however, he enjoys most genres of music. His favourite Broadway musicals are Dear Evan HansenHamilton, and Shrek.  His dream roles would be to play Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton, Shrek in Shrek and Evan Hansen in Dear Evan Hansen.

Hayley Binnekamp

Hayley is going into her third year of studying a bachelor of performance in Classical Voice at Sydney Con. She has lived in the Middle East for most of her life and returned back to Australia when she was 15. Aside from performance in countless musicals, the highlights of her musical career so far have been supporting Hugh Jackman in his roadshow in Australia and performing solo with the Qatar Phillharmonic Orchestra.

Holly Abbott

Holly Abbott is 18 years old. Holly has been dancing and singing at TIDC Performing Arts Studio for the past 13 years under the direction of Kerreane Sarti, and is a voice student of Emma Riggs, and The Studio and Star Factory.

Holly has been in over 40 Musicals with various companies ... with some of her favourite roles being Patrice in 13 The Musical, Jemima Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with NLTC, Olaf in Frozen Jr, Young Fiona in Shrek Jr, Tracey Turnblad in Hairspray Jr all with Adelaide Youth Theatre. She was also cast in Matt Byrne Media’s 2019 production of Strictly Ballroom where she played Kylie Hastings. Holly has also played the title role in NLTC's 2017 production of Annie - where she was also honoured to receive the Theatre Association of South Australia award for Best Youth Female Actor for this role.

Holly has recently come back from a month overseas performing with the Australian Youth Performing Arts Team - She was lucky enough to have the opportunity to perform in Disneyworld and Universal Studios as a featured singer and dancer - She also had the opportunity to participate in the Junior Theatre Festival In Atlanta and Take Workshops and Masterclasses from Broadway professionals such as Natalie Weiss, Dan Micchice, and Derek Klena whilst in New York.

Holly is taking a gap year this year as she prepares to enter the audition circuit for Musical Theatre courses around the country and world - She is excited to go back to America in July to participate in Musical Theatre summer college courses and immerse herself in the life of a New York performer.

Imogen Mansfield

Imogen has been singing for 6 years and thoroughly enjoys performing in musicals. Since 2015, she has performed in Adelaide Youth Theatre's productions of Annie, Wicked, and 13 The Musical, just to name a few. She currently attends The Studio and Star Factory where she partakes in singing and songwriting mentoring and hopes to release original music in the upcoming months.

Jacinda Tsakalos

Jacinda has been dancing and performing since the age of 4 at the Barbara Jayne Dance Centre. Since then she has been involved in many shows produced by Pelican Productions and one by Adelaide Youth Theatre. She was fortunate enough to play “Louisa” in The Sound of Music in 2016. Most recently, Jacinda played the roll of “Velma” in her school musical of Chicago in 2020. She loves to dance, sing and assist in teaching younger students dance.

Janice Dulayan

Janice is an immigrant who is passionate about music and in particular, singing. Throughout the years, her passion has led her to explore various genre of vocal styles from pop, musical, classical and choral.

Janice has been a member of a Philippine a Capella chamber choir and have toured various parts the world.

In 2016 she moved to Sydney from Manila through work opportunities with hopes to explore more of singing as a hobby.

Whenever she visits Adelaide, she have often wondered when she'll get a chance to sing at Broadway Sessions.

Jingyang Li

A bit of a late bloomer, Jingyang's love for musical theatre blossomed in 2014 when her friend from high school dragged her to audition for the school's musical theatre club. Her friend was definitely onto something because through the club, she performed as Birdgirl (Suessical Jr, 2015) and Sebastian (The Little Mermaid Jr, 2017), as well as being a club captain in 2017 and 2018. Jingyang was also a part of the mass ensemble in Grease: The Arena Experience (2017). She was a part of Australian Girls Choir from 2012-2015.

She reluctantly had to take a break from performing due to her university studies (to become a dentist), however, when she heard someone perform "Dentist!" from Little Shop of Horrors in February, she knew she had to make a comeback and preserve her (future) career's honour.

John Mondelo (he/him)

John is a graduate of the Bachelor of Musical Theatre at the Elder Conservatorium, and has previously completed a BA in Classical Voice at the University of Western Australia, the Certificate course at WAAPA in Musical Theatre, and the Music Theatre Intensive at the Stella Adler Studio NYC. John is also executive producer and co-founder of the theatrical collective EXEUNT (Pursued By A Bear) Productions which most recently performed Rodgers & Hammerstein's: A Grand Night for Singing at the Adelaide Fringe.

Kimberley Li

Kimberley is a 17 years old, and relatively new, but passionate musical performer. Kimberley attends studio and star factory for music, and SA casting for Film. Though she has had many experiences on performing as a solo/ensemble artist, as well as theatre pieces, she had never been in a musical. Kimberley is looking forward to grow and learn more about Broadway and musicals!

Maddy Schroeter

After a busy 2023, Maddy is excited to be back on stage performing at Broadway Sessions. She has performed with Pelican Productions in their annual musical theatre camps for the past five years where she has had some wonderful roles including Mal from Descendants. In 2021 she played the role of Summer in School of Rock (Pelican Productions) alongside her wonderful vocal coach and mentor, Mim Sarre. Maddy has more recently played the role of Matilda in her schools production of Matilda, the loveable seagull Scuttle in the The Little Mermaid Jr (Shane Davidson Presents) and was fortunate to be selected as a soloist in the Public Primary Schools Festival of Music in September, 2022.

Matthew Prime

Originally from Adelaide, Matthew moved interstate to Melbourne to study Music Theatre at the VCA. After completing his BFA, Matthew made his professional debut in the Australian tour of Jersey Boys (New Theatricals). Since returning to Melbourne, he has performed in The Production Company's Thoroughly Modern Millie, Manilla Productions The Beautiful Game and most recently played the role of Jimmy in the production of Bright Star (Pursued by Bear).

Nathan Stafford

17 year old Nathan Stafford currently studies Year 12 at Trinity College. With performing arts as his passion, he began training at 9 years of age. His professional debut began in May 2013, performing in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Festival Theatre. Under the direction of Emma Riggs and Kerreane Sarti, Adelaide Youth Theatre has been pivotal in providing Nathan with numerous opportunities to play many musical theatre lead roles. Currently, training in all dance genres at TIDC Performing Arts Studio, Nathan has been equipped with the skills to win many awards and accolades. In 2015 he joined the Australian Ballet School and performed in the Australian Ballet’s Swan Lake.

Other highlights include winning 2 ATG awards for best "Young Performer", his soloist performance at Elder Park’s Carols by Candlelight, and Todd McKenney’s Adelaide winner of Search for a Star. His most prized professional achievement to date was winning the role of Friedrich Von Trapp in the Adelaide season of The Sound of Music in August of 2016. Travelling with the Australian Youth Performing Arts Team, to the USA, in 2016, he undertook various workshops with Disney and the Broadway Dance Centre. In January of 2019, he travelled to Atlanta, to participate in the International Junior Theatre Festival, where he won ‘Best Male Performer’ award amongst 6,500 participants from across the world and the inaugural JTF Barb Johnson Scholarship. This year, Nathan will commence auditioning for 2021 tertiary education in Musical Theatre in preparation for his future career in the Arts.

Oscar Bridges (he/him)

Oscar, 17 years old, has been performing since he was 7. He's performed in over 25 musical theatre productions, including the London Palladium's national tour of The Sound of Music, as Kurt at 10. Oscar's most recent musicals include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Wonka, Matilda as Miss Trunchbull and Mamma Mia as Sam. He also just performed as 'Jesus' in Jesus Christ Superstar with Pulteney Grammar School. Oscar sings at the Studio and Star Factory with Kirsty Roberts. Oscar has just been cast in the Australian national tour of Grease the Musical in the Ensemble and cover Roger, starting later this year. Oscar is looking forward to performing once more at Broadway Sessions.

Robyn Brookes

Robyn has been performing and teaching for over 20 years in various guises. After completing her Bachelor of Music, the stage wooed her and she has since performed with the Hills Musical Company, Northern Light Theatre and Matt Byrne Media. Her favourite performances have included; Rita in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with Matt Byrne Media; Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers and Vera in Stepping Out, for the Hills Musical Company; Sukie in The Witches of Eastwick and Kathy in Singing in the Rain with Northern Light theatre company. Robyn also won the Best Female Performance for her role as Dusty in Northern Light Theatre's Dusty: The Original Pop Diva.

Over the past three years, she has been the lead vocalist for the 60’s band, The Highlights, performed in the 60s Down Under matinee series, and worked as a backing vocalist for the 2017 Adelaide Fringe show, A Tribute to George Harrison. With a background in jazz music, she was also given the opportunity to sing with the Lindy Hip Big Band for two years, and features on their CD.

Robyn has just performed in Northern Light Theatre's season of Mamma Mia, playing the lead role of Donna.

Roh K Whittaker (they/them)

Having performed in a variety of musicals ranging from Next To Normal to The Boy From Oz, South East Queensland performer Roh Whittaker is no stranger to the stage. Beginning their training of music theory and performance from age 8, with soon to follow theatre and dance training at secondary school and private academies, they have developed a keen eye for all things Musical Theatre; both on stage and off. They recently began their studies at the Elder Conservatorium studying a Bachelor in Music Theatre under the careful guidance of George Torbay and many others.

Some of their more recent credits include, Billy Flynn in Chicago (ADMT), Angel in Kinky Boots (Phoenix Ensemble), Featured Dancer in The Boy From Oz (Savoyards) and Gabe in Next To Normal (Brisbane Arts Theatre).

Sasha Paris

Sasha fell in love with musical theatre when she saw her first production of The Lion King in London as a child. Whilst growing up in the UK Sasha received singing and acting training from Industry Professionals, growing as a performer at Stage Coach and going on to perform in many musicals such as Grease, The Boyfriend, Peter Pan, Les Miserables and We Will Rock You, along with being a noted soloist in multiple variety shows and performing in an acoustic duo in bars and festivals.

Unfortunately, Sasha’s day job in the UK meant she couldn’t perform as much as she would have liked, however after recently settling in Adelaide, Sasha is hoping to find her place within the buzzing Musical Theatre community and get back to doing what she loves best!

Wynona Oyevaar

Wynona is an aspiring actress and performer. Her love for the stage began when she started performing in an alternative Morris dancing troupe at age 14. Her fondness for the spotlight only grew as she took high school dance classes and won best performance at Supanova Adelaide's Cosplay Competition. This cemented Wynona's aspirations for a career in the performing arts. She also realises that in order to more easily facilitate this dream, attending TAFE would definitely be beneficial. Wynona's other artistic endeavours include painting, singing, dancing, writing and miniature sculptures. Her biggest inspirations as a performer would be Siouxsie Sioux, Mae West and of course, Winona Ryder.

Zoe Tsoleridis

This is Zoe’s fourth time performing at a Broadway Sessions over the years, and she loves gaining the experience of performing in front of a live audience, having missed the stage since appearing in the ensemble of Strictly Ballroom in 2019. Zoe now works as a Speech Pathologist but is always keen get back on the stage and immerse herself into the world of performing arts and musical theatre whenever possible.

Session Band

Peter Johns (Piano/Musical Director)

Peter is a music director, accompanist, repertoire coach, and the founder of Irregular Productions - one half of the brains behind Broadway Sessions.

He has been a theatre music director since 2005, with a number of his shows winning local awards. Theatre Credits include: (as Music Director) Beautiful, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, Next to Normal, Violet, The Story Of My Life, Songs For A New World, The Light In The Piazza, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Into the Woods, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, [title of show], Edges, Avenue Q, Bring It On, Singing In The Rain, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver!, Monty Python’s Spamalot, Chicago, Sweeney Todd, The Sound of Music, Urinetown the Musical, Scrooge, The Witches of Eastwick, Little Shop of Horrors, Seussical the Musical, Grease, Once Upon a Mattress; (as Associate Music Director) Kinky Boots; (as Conductor) City of Angels, The Addams Family; (as Associate Conductor) Rent; (as Assistant Music Director) Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, South Pacific, Copacabana; as well as playing keyboard in over 25 other productions.

Besides co-producing Broadway Sessions, Irregular Productions has also staged the South Australian premieres of Songs for a New World, [title of show] and Edges, as well as a new production of Godspell (with Lydian Productions).

Peter is also the music director for Civic Park Carols, Australia's second-largest candlelight carols event, working with some of Adelaide’s finest musician’s and performers, as well as artists such as Justine Clarke, Guy Sebastian, Rachel Beck, and Jimmy Giggle.

Louis Cann (Bass)

Louis has been playing both double bass and bass guitar as long as he can remember. Beginning with lessons at the age of 7, he quickly developed his skills and decided that music was the career for him. Louis began playing for Musical Theatre shows in 2011, with the Northern Lights Theatre Company’s production of Beauty and the Beast, which coincidentally, was the beginning of a long-standing working relationship with Musical Director, Peter Johns! Since, Louis has played for many theatre companies around Adelaide, including Adelaide Youth Theatre, Lydian Productions, Pelican Productions, Davine Productions, Irregular Productions, Marie Clarke Musical Theatre, The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of South Australia, and Hills Musical Company. Some of his favourite shows to play for have been In the Heights, for Pelican Productions in 2019, and Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, for Davine Productions in 2020. In 2018, Louis had the privilege of playing in the pit for the Gordon Frost Organisation’s touring production of The Wizard of Oz. Louis graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music in 2016, with a Bachelor of Music (Classical Performance.) That same year, he began performing as a casual member of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra - some of his favourite performances include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Concert at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, and Last Night of the Proms at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

Max Ziliotto (Drums/Percussion)

Max Ziliotto has been performing since 2004, from concert bands, drumline and big band, to orchestral works and musical theatre. Prior to his acceptance as a Casual Percussionist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, he completed his Bachelor of Music in 2013 at the University of Adelaide’s Elder Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Amanda Grigg.

Born in Adelaide, Max began his musical journey under the guidance of Peter Matzick. Attending Marryatville High School, Max gained a wealth of performance opportunities including the Generations in Jazz festival in Mount Gambier. During his Undergraduate studies, Max won first place in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Snare Drum Award in 2011.

Max has been performing with the Elder Conservatorium's Music Theatre students' productions since 2021, most notably playing the drum score for Legally Blonde, directed by Broadway's Nikki Snelson in 2022.

Max was also an active member of the Raiders Drum Corps from 2006-2019, performing numerous times in the city's Christmas Pageant, and on stage with them at Australian Ultimate Drummers Weekend in Melbourne 2015. He has tutored at South Australian Music Camp multiple times, and has been in the house band of Broadway Sessions since its inception in 2015.
